01 Hours, prices and booking

Q. How do I book?

There are two ways to book.

① Book on LINE
② Book online

Q. Do I need an appointment?

There is only one therapist, so we work by appointment to make sure you never have to wait. We often cannot see you right away, but if you send us a message on LINE, we may be able to squeeze you in.

Q. Can two people be treated at the same time?

Sorry, there is only one therapist, so we cannot treat two people at once. We can treat you one after the other, so please let us know when you book.

Q. I cannot get through by phone.

Sorry, we do not take bookings by phone.

For anything else, first check that you have the right number.
Our number is 070-8333-9216 (from abroad: +81 70-8333-9216).

Next, check that your phone is not hiding your caller ID. To block nuisance calls, we do not accept calls from hidden numbers.

If neither applies, we may be on another call or our phone may be having trouble. Please try again in a few minutes, or contact us on LINE.

Q. Is there anything I should know before my visit?

Please avoid eating right before your appointment. We cannot treat you after drinking alcohol. Lying face down may smudge your makeup, so you may want to bring a few makeup items.

Q. Can I pay by card or cashless?

Yes. Here is what we accept.

Accepted cashless payments: credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, JCB, UnionPay, American Express, Discover, Diners Club), transit IC cards (Kitaca, Suica, PASMO, TOICA, manaca, ICOCA, SUGOCA, nimoca, Hayakaken), Apple Pay, iD, QUICPay, Hachi Pay, Alipay, WeChat Pay, d-barai, PayPay, LINE Pay and au PAY

* We also accept Rakuten Pay.

Q. Can you treat injuries from a traffic accident?

Your insurance company will probably recommend an orthopedic clinic after an accident. As a seitai clinic, insurers often decline to cover us, although in some cases you can claim the fee later if you strongly request treatment here. Please ask your insurance company whether treatment at a seitai clinic is covered. If it is not, we can introduce you to a trusted seikotsuin (judo therapy clinic), so feel free to contact us.

02 About our treatments

Q. What does seitai at Chikurindo help with?

We find it effective for lower back pain (disc herniation, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, sciatica, etc.), shoulder and neck problems (stiff neck after sleeping, headaches, nausea, stiff shoulders, rounded shoulders, numbness in the arms, etc.), back pain, scoliosis and mood problems. Pain is often caused by tight, poorly moving deep muscles and stiff joints and ligaments. By adjusting all of these, we aim to restore how your whole body works.
For acute symptoms (right after an injury, for example), we may limit treatment to relieving the symptoms.

Q. How are you different from other seitai or chiropractic clinics?

In Japan, many seitai and chiropractic practitioners hold only private certificates or none at all. Some start treating clients after just a few days of in-house training, and accidents during treatment are still reported. We believe safety matters most when you trust us with your body, so all treatment is given by a therapist holding national licenses in acupuncture, moxibustion and anma-massage-shiatsu, certified by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.

Q. What is the difference between seitai and relaxation?

At our clinic, “relaxation” aims to make you feel good and refreshed, while “seitai” aims to reduce pain and discomfort.

If you are in pain, seitai is the right choice, although it may not always feel pleasant. If you are tired, want to feel lighter even for a while, or tense up without noticing, relaxation is the right choice.

We have detailed pages on both, so take a look if you like.

About seitai About relaxation

Q. Can I come while pregnant?

As your belly grows, your upper body arches back and your ligaments loosen to prepare for birth. Many people also get bad lower back pain from lack of exercise and mood swings.
As a guide, we can treat you between weeks 16 and 32. However, for the safety of mother and baby, we are sorry but we cannot treat you if you have been told you are at risk of preterm labor.

Q. Can I come during my period?

Yes, as long as you are not feeling very unwell. Because circulation improves, bleeding may increase for a while, and the pressure may feel different from usual. If you are worried, let us know in advance and we will adjust the treatment.

Q. How often and how many times should I come?

I have worked with bodies for more than 10 years, and to be frank, for chronic problems it is hard to name one best number or pace. For acute problems, a check-up about 4 days later, once the acute stage has passed, is ideal.

Q. Can I come even if the pain is small?

Almost half of our clients come when something is just “a little bothering” them. Coming while the pain is small can mean you get better sooner.

If you put up with pain, it often takes longer to get better, so we recommend coming when it only hurts a little.

If you are not sure, we can check your body and decide together whether seitai or relaxation is better, so feel free to book.

Q. Can you fix a hunched back?

Helping people find good posture is one of our strengths. You may imagine scary bone cracking, but we mainly work on deep muscles, so it feels like a pleasant massage or stretch. Afterwards, your lower back should feel upright and you can open your chest with ease.

Q. Can you fix bow legs or knock knees?

Bow legs and knock knees are largely caused by habits in how you use your muscles. Many people improve by consciously changing those habits, and combined with techniques that prevent a hunched back, forward head and uneven weight-bearing, clients are often surprised by how much better they are.

Q. Do you treat headaches?

We cannot promise every headache will go away, but most are muscle-related, so we believe seitai can ease them. However, a serious illness can sometimes be behind a headache. If the pain starts suddenly and severely, or has continued for about a week, please see a doctor first.

03 Other questions

Q. It is my first time and I am nervous…

It is natural to feel nervous somewhere new. To ease your worries, ask us anything at all. We will answer everything we can. Treatment started while you are still worried does not give good results, so we only begin once you are comfortable. If something still does not feel right and we cannot resolve it, you can leave without treatment, and of course there is no charge.

Q. Can someone come with me?

Of course. The room is small, but they can wait inside and watch. We can also tell you roughly when the session will end, so they can just come with you there and back.

Q. Do you have parking?

We do not have our own parking. Please use a nearby car park or come without a car. The closest paid car park is Keio Coin Park Hatagaya.

Q. Is there a place to park a bicycle?

We do not have our own bicycle parking, but there is a bicycle parking area under the elevated road, free for up to 2 hours. We recommend using it. Some people park right in front of our building, but bikes there may be tagged or removed, so please do so at your own risk.
